MOBILE, AL – It’s been more than 22 years since the Board of Trustees of the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico elected officers, but on Thursday, March 10, in a historic event for GulfQuest, Board Chairman E. B. Peebles passed the gavel and the Trustees unanimously elected new officers and an executive committee.
Moving into the Chairman’s role is Michael B. Lee. The Board also elected Marietta M. Urquhart as the Vice Chairman; Anthony J. Zodrow as Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer; and Ray H. Miller as the Secretary/Treasurer.
The Executive Committee consists of Lee, Urquhart, Miller, along with G. Edgar Downing, James K. Lyons, Walter Meigs, E. B. Peebles and Patrick Wilson.
“First, I’d like to personally thank Tony Zodrow,” Peebles said before stepping down. “We (GulfQuest) wouldn’t be where we are today without Tony. I’m also very grateful to all of you Trustees, and to those Trustees who have retired from the Board, and to future Trustees.”
Lee, President/CEO of Page & Jones, Inc., has served on the Board of Trustees for more than 10 years. He also serves on the Boards of the Child Advocacy Center, Mobile Steamship Association, Seaman’s Foundation, Visit Mobile, and the E.A. Roberts Foundation.
