GulfQuest summer camps take children on a voyage of discovery!

Jun 6, 2016

The days are longer, the weather is warmer and children along the Gulf Coast are gearing up for summer! Enjoy summer break with GulfQuest National Maritime Museum’s inaugural summer camp program where children have the chance to visit and experience GulfQuest exhibits related to a specific day’s theme, hear from guest speakers and engage in camp activities with our professionally-trained educators.

“From making a net and learning how to cast it to becoming shipwreck detectives studying underwater archaeology – there is something for every camper,” said GulfQuest’s Education Director Ilka Porter. “We will have special guest speakers like story tellers, and during Creep into the Deep End, campers will Skype with a scientist stationed on a vessel in the Gulf!”

Registration for the weekly camps begins April 18 for GulfQuest members, and April 25 for non-members. Camps run Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
