GulfQuest will be housed inside a 90,000 sq. ft. structure shaped like a vessel headed out to sea.
On the north end, a large globe protrudes through the roof, representing the Gulfs connection to the world. On the south end, GulfQuests bridge adds to the buildings nautical look and serves as home to a high-tech interactive exhibit.
GulfQuest will become the centerpiece of Mobile Landing, the citys new development on the downtown waterfront, which already is home to the Arthur Outlaw Convention Center, the Alabama Cruise Terminal, and a riverside park/amphitheater.
In addition to GulfQuest, this structure will house a ferry terminal with passenger service that links the Mobile waterfront to other Mobile Bay locations.
