To ensure your event is a huge success, GulfQuest provides an event coordinator to assist with the planning and preparation. Rental rates are based on a four-hour event, with addtional time available at an hourly rate. Rentals include set-up of tables and chairs to accommodate up to 100 guests. GulfQuest can also provide valet parking at an additional cost.

Entire Museum

For a totally immersive event

Ideal for large groups and all types of events. Exclusive access to all of GulfQuest, including the Grand Lobby, Shores of the Gulf gallery, GulfQuest Theater and the museum's hands-on exhibits, simulators, displays and theaters.

  • Rate: $7,500 includes staff and security
  • Additional hourly rate: $500/hour
  • Available for evening events only
  • Capacity: 2,500 (depending on type of event)

The Port city Room

Perfect for luncheons, dinners or receptions

Sweeping, third-floor view of the Mobile River, Cooper Riverside Park and the downtown Mobile skyline. Adjoining catering pantry/service area.

  • Rate: $1,750 plus staff and security
  • Additional hourly rate: $200/hour
  • Museum access available at additional cost during daytime and evening hours
  • Capacity: 220 for seated dinners; 280 for receptions

THE Riverside Room

Ideal for business meetings, presentations and small receptions

Third-floor view of the Mobile River.

  • $750 plus staff and security
  • Additional hourly rate: $100/hour
  • Museum access available at addtional cost during daytime hours only
  • Capacity: 75 for seminars; 100 for receptions

Party Room

Functional space for small groups and events

Second-floor view of the downtown skyline.

  • Rate: $300 plus staff and security
  • Additional hourly rate: $50/hour
  • Museum access available at addtional cost during daytime hours only
  • Capacity: 75 - 125 (depending on type of event)

Riverfront Promenade/Amphitheater

Adaptable outdoors space for mid-size events. Located alongside GulfQuest and the Mobile River

  • Rate: (plus staff and security)
    • $750 for Riverfront
    • $500 for Amphitheater
    • $1,000 for entire space
  • Additional hourly rate: $150/hour
  • Museum access available at addtional cost during daytime hours only
  • Capacity: 500-1,000 (depending on type of event)

Grand Lobby

Three-story rotunda with Gulf of Mexico interactive map, beautiful batik artwork, skylight with overhead dome, and flags that represent ships in the Port of Mobile

  • Rate: $1,300 plus staff and security
  • Additional hourly rate: $200/hour
  • Available for evening events only.
  • Does not include museum admission
  • Capacity: 250 for receptions and events

GulfQuest Theater

Exhibits' access may be added to a room rental for a charge of $14 per guest. A minimum of 50 guests is required.

 

 

SLUSH FUND

It was once customary for the mate to profit from selling the "slush" - fat or grease obtained from boiling salted meat for meals. Sometimes sailors shared these profits, which were placed in a "slush fund" to buy a few luxuries.
